After School Arts Teaching Artists

ALLISON BROWN – PAINTING & DRAWING / COMIC & CARTOON DRAWING

Allison attended the University of Southern Indiana with an undergraduate focus on Art History and Studio Art, then attended the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP program for her completion of her graduate work. She has exhibited work at various institutes, more locally at The Evansville Museum of Art and Science,  New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art, and Miller Gallery.

OLIVIA MAYER – HIP HOP DANCE

Olivia Mayer is from Haubstadt, IN, and recently graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre. Olivia has spent much time on both sides of the stage throughout her life and enjoys sharing her passion and creativity with audiences. The one thing she loves most about the arts is its ability to transcend boundaries and connect people in different ways. Some of her favorite activities include watching movies, listening to music, reading, and spending time with her pets, Woody, Mimi, and Olly. 

TABITHA TAYLOR – COMIC & CARTOON DRAWING

Tabitha is a KY native who attended Henderson Community College. She has previously taught with Audubon Kid’s Zone and is now excited to be working with The Foundry. When she isn’t teaching, creating window/ chalk advertisements for local businesses, or creating her own art, she’s most likely tending to her many plants, thrifting, or drinking a substantial amount of coffee.

MATT UTLEY – ACTING

Matthew is from Henderson, KY, he recently graduated from Henderson Community College with an Associates in Arts Degree. He plans to continue his education at USI, pursuing a Bachelors in Theatre with a minor in vocal performance. Matthew has experience of both areas of performing arts. Including professional jobs in both acting and production. His most notable credits are the Regional Off-Broadway Premiere of Chaplin The Musical (Sydney Chaplin), world premiere of Here I Grew Up (Peter Brooner, Allen Gentry), The Barn independent film (Production Assistant.), Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari Entertainment (Audio& Lighting Technician.), Nexstar Media Broadcasting ( Production Assistant.), along with many other credits. Matthew also Interned with the Henderson Area Arts Alliance. He loves using his talents to reach people and to use that art form to make others happy. His favorite Quote is “A day without laughter is a day wasted.” -Charlie Chaplin. He is excited to teach others at the Foundry.

KELLY VANOVER – ACTING

Kentucky native Kelly Vanover is the Executive Director of The Foundry Center for the Arts. Kelly graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting from Murray State University. As a performer in musical theatre since the age of 6, she has a true love of the performing arts. She has performed at MCTI (KY), Murray State University (KY), Lakeshire Summer Theatre (NH), interned at Williamstown Theatre Festival (MA), American Family Theatre (toured nationally) (PA), Murder Mystery Festival (Owensboro, KY), Henderson Community Theatre (KY), and Civic Theatre (Evansville). Prior to her role as ED of the Foundry, she was the Children’s Ministry Director of CFC Church in Evansville, held the role of Nursing Recruiter for Deaconess Hospital, and worked for over 15 years in corporate retail management for Shoe Carnival Corporate and Office Max Corporate. She loves this community and hopes to spread the joy of the arts and the love of Christ to our community.

GAIL WALLER – BOOK CLUB / PUBLIC SPEAKING / SCIENCE / LIFE SKILLS

Gail Waller is a certified /degreed music educator in both Kentucky and Indiana. She has taught general music at the elementary level in Union County, Ky. and Daviess County Public Schools., KY .She has directed many children’s musicals in both public school and at church. She has also directed children’s choir and percussion ensemble. She is a certified /licensed teacher of Musikgarten, early childhood music and movement education program.  Gail is a trained flutist and has performed on flute in the community and at her church, as well as playing in local groups such as UE community band, Evansville and Owensboro flute choirs, and Wolfgang Orchestra. She also continues to work as a vocalist. She performs in Community Theater productions in Owensboro, Ky. and sings with the Owensboro Symphony Chorus as well as the UE Choral society. She is an active member of Chapel Hill Methodist Church in Henderson, KY. She believes that God has created music and our creative spirit and loves to help each person’s creative soul develop!
